SortWizard® Software Update Procedure

The Windows 2000 or Windows XP operating systems are preferred for optimal operation and performance of the SortWizard.  There may be issues when using the Windows 95, 98 or ME operating systems.

For hardware and operating system specifications: Click here

  1. Start Download of the SortWizard Update Software.  Save the file to a location on your hard drive where you will be able to find it later when you are ready to proceed with installation.  Please do not restart the download once it has started.

  2. Close the SortWizard if you have it running.  Then, from the folder in which you saved the update, double click on the update file you downloaded in #1 above to start the installation.  Follow the prompts to completion of the installation.

  3. If, after you update the SortWizard, you get a warning  or error that says it cannot find your "severkey.txt" then you will need to complete a form so we can create a new authorization file for you.

Click here to go to the request form.

  4. If you DID NOT complete the form described in #3 above; skip to #5.  If you DID, after we receive your information from the form, we will determine whether you require a new subscription authorization file.  If you have renewed your subscription after December 1, 2000, you will most likely not need a new one.  If you do, you will receive an email within 48 hours (especially if you made the request over a weekend) containing your new subscription authorization file included as an attachmentWe will do our best to get the updated file to you as soon as possible.  Install the new authorization as you have in the past, or if you do not recall,  per the email instructions to which your authorization file was attached.

If you do not require a new authorization key we will email you to advise you and provide instructions on how to correct the error.

  5. Start the SortWizard.  Your application should be updated.  Check in Help/About; a version number greater than 2.100 should now be displayed.

  6. There is a tutorial and a sample search in the Learning Center that walks you through some of the Plus's new features.

Check out Operating & Installation Instructions on the web site to see what is new.  For more Plus information, the Plus Reference Center link is shown on the top the page in Other References and in the areas of the Operating Instructions that relate to the functionality of the Plus.
